Summary

This study shows that combining electrical stimulation for high frequencies with acoustic hearing for low frequencies in one ear significantly improves speech perception for individuals with severe high-frequency hearing loss. A 10-mm electrode placement preserves hearing and enhances consonant recognition, offering substantial benefits.
