Abstract:
The molecule of 3,5-difluoro-4-nitropyridine N-oxide, C(5)H(2)F(2)N(2)O(3), is twisted around the C-NO(2) bond by 38.5 (1) degrees, while the 3,5-diamino analogue, 3,5-diamino-4-nitropyridine N-oxide monohydrate, C(5)H(6)N(4)O(3).H(2)O, adopts a planar conformation stabilized by intramolecular hydrogen bonds, with a significant redistribution of pi electrons.
