Summary

Both heavy and light exercise increase whole blood viscosity, a factor linked to sudden cardiac death. This study suggests similar risks regardless of exercise intensity after short-term physical activity.

  • Nine healthy, sedentary males underwent 10-minute exercise protocols of either heavy (>95% max oxygen consumption) or light (60-65% max oxygen consumption) intensity.
