Background:
Impact of a vocal improvement course.
Aim:
To analyze the impact of a course in the prevention and maintenance of the teachers' vocal health.
Method:
Information analysis of 6 teachers, who attended a 32:30-hour-course, obtained from the questionnaires applied during the course and from an interview with 3 teachers, 11 months after the course ended.
Results:
Teachers valued the vocal warming up; took responsibility for the contents and activities which were not incorporated to their daily routine; followed the vocal health instructions when in the classroom and considered the time insufficient to retain the new concepts.
Conclusion:
Changes were observed in the teachers' use of the voice, in higher or lower level.
