Intravaginal administration of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25(OH)2D3) in dairy cows demonstrated effective absorption and potential for preventing hypocalcemia. This novel route offers a promising alternative for managing parturient hypocalcemia in cattle.
