No relation between angiotensin-converting enzyme gene polymorphism and smoking dependence

Genetic variations in the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene, specifically the insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism, were not associated with smoking habits. This suggests ACE I/D polymorphism does not influence an individual's predisposition to smoking.
