Abstract:
Over the last decades we have witnessed a significant and quick development of our speciality, especially in that referring to new therapeutic offers. This situation would not have been possible if the new drugs had not demonstrated their therapeutic goodness in clinical trials. In medicine in which the concept of evidence-based is more and more established, the clinical trial has been formed as key point in which to look for the evidence. Nevertheless, they also have a series of limitations that must be known. The critical reading of its results will facilitate the correct and unbiased interpretation of these and it will be translated into the fact that our therapeutic prescriptions will be properly reasoned, that is to say, guided by the principles of the evidence-based medicine.
