  • A retrospective study from 1999-2003 documented a 50% reduction in firework injuries by 2003, attributed to a community education campaign and increased law enforcement.
  • Children (53%), Arabs/Druze (93%), and males (93%) were predominantly affected. Extremities, face, and eyes were common injury sites, with 7% losing fingers and 2% losing vision in one eye.
