Summary

Locally delivered antimicrobial agents, such as doxycycline and chlorhexidine, significantly improve chronic periodontitis treatment outcomes. These therapies, when used alongside scaling and root planing, enhance clinical attachment and reduce pocket depth for more stable periodontal health.
