[Laparoscopic management of Meckel's diverticulum]

• Hemorrhagic Meckel's diverticulum is a rare but significant cause of lower gastrointestinal bleeding in children.

Observation:

• Two young patients presented with recurrent digestive bleeding attributed to a hemorrhagic Meckel's diverticulum.
• Technetium-99m (Tc99) scintigraphy identified the bleeding source in the lower abdomen in one patient.
• Laparoscopic surgery revealed the Meckel's diverticulum located 1 meter from the ileocecal valve.

Findings:

• Both patients underwent successful surgical resection of the affected Meckel's diverticulum using a vascular stapler.
• Postoperative recovery was uneventful for both individuals.

Implications:

• Surgical resection with a vascular stapler is an effective treatment for hemorrhagic Meckel's diverticulum.
• Early diagnosis and surgical intervention can lead to favorable outcomes in pediatric patients with this condition.
