Abstract:
A simple and dependable clinical test for recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis, based on the author's personal experience is described and its place in clinical practice discussed. This test is particularly useful as initial screening examination during the early postoperative period, before compensation by the opposite non-paralysed vocal cord is established. When positive, this test is pathognomonic of vocal cord paralysis.
