Self-expandable metallic biliary stents with permanent access

Objective:
The objective of our study was to assess the safety and effectiveness of establishing a permanent access to self-expandable biliary stents in palliation of malignant biliary obstruction.
Conclusion:
Permanent access to self-expandable biliary stent provided a safe and effective means for timely reintervention in stent occlusion with acceptable stent patency.
