Abstract:
Periodontal disease is a major cause in the lost of human teeth. The pathological entirety of periodontal disease is a diverse and obscure. However, a large amount of outcomes concerning the pathogenesis of periodontal diseases due to the recent development of bacteriology and molecular biology have been obtained. Among these, the evidence of formation of biofilm by periodontopathic bacteria, which disturbs periodontal therapy, and the concept of risk factors on the pathogenesis of periodontal disease are novel. It is currently suggested the possibility of genetic diagnosis of the susceptibility to periodontal diseases.

Teeth
In the bud stage, the tooth germ (an aggregation of cells) starts to form in the developing jawbone. During the cap stage, the tooth germ differentiates into enamel organ, dental papilla, and dental sac, which will later develop into the tooth's enamel, dentin and...

The Crown, Neck, and Root
The visible part of the tooth is referred to as the crown. It's covered by enamel, the hardest substance in the human body. The crown is uniquely shaped for each type of tooth, allowing for different functions such as cutting, tearing, or grinding food.
