Summary

This sickle cell disease (SCD) education program significantly improved teacher knowledge on SCD complications and stroke risks. While understanding of inheritance and diagnosis improved, IEP knowledge showed no significant change.

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of a targeted SCD education program for K-12 teachers.
  • To enhance teacher understanding of SCD inheritance, prevalence, complications, and management strategies.
