Summary

Plant-derived phenols like curcumin and caffeic acid effectively inhibit macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF), a key factor in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) pathogenesis. This suggests MIF is a potential therapeutic target for herbal anti-rheumatic agents.
