Summary

Prostacyclin (PGI2) did not relax avian pulmonary arteries in broilers, unlike in mammals. This study found PGI2 reduced blood pressure by decreasing cardiac output, not by dilating blood vessels, suggesting differences in avian cardiovascular responses.
