Abstract:
This contribution offers a scientific historical view of the discovery, research, and medical use of magnetic phenomena. The milestones of the scientific findings beginning with the very first account of a classic magnetic force and progressing through to the new age discoveries of the magnetic resonance phenomenon with its subsequent use in medicine in the form of magnetic resonance tomography are presented.
