Abstract:
The Leipzig Medical Society was founded in 1829 by Justus Radius. More than 100 years this interdisciplinary association was a scientific and cultural centre which promoted scientific life and professional training of the municipal physicians and the university staff. Therefore the Leipzig Medical Society contributed to reputation of Leipzig as an cultural and scientific centre during the last years of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
