Area of Science:

  • Otorhinolaryngology
  • Pathology

Background:

  • Chondromas of the nasal septum are exceptionally rare, with approximately 140 cases documented since 1842.
  • Nasal tumors require careful differential diagnosis due to varied presentations.

Observation:

  • A 38-year-old female presented with 3 months of intermittent epistaxis and nasal obstruction.
  • Endoscopic examination revealed a reddish mass originating from the nasal septum.

Findings:

  • Endoscopic resection of the nasal septum mass was performed.
  • Histopathologic analysis confirmed the tumor as a chondroma, characterized by well-differentiated chondrocytes.

Implications:

  • This case underscores the necessity of including nasal septum chondromas in the differential diagnosis of nasal tumors.
