Summary

Dental implants offer a more cost-effective solution for single-tooth replacements compared to fixed partial dentures (FPDs). Despite requiring more visits, implant-supported crowns result in lower overall treatment costs and a better cost-effectiveness ratio.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the economic parameters of conventional three-unit fixed partial dentures (FPDs) and single crowns on implants (I) for single-tooth replacements in private practice.
  • To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of each treatment option over a short observation period (1-4 years).

  • A comparative study involving 37 patients receiving FPDs (41 units) and 52 patients receiving implant crowns (59 units).
