In addition, the prognosis for surgery can be improved by adequate preparation of the conjunctive and the use of antimitotics--5-fluorouracile or mitomycin C--each operating on a different mechanism and whose indications should be carefully thought out. New research avenues are being explored, notably the concept of slow-release implants of antimitotics.
