Background:
- Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E) is known to be upregulated in various cancers, including breast and head and neck cancers.
- Previous research indicates elevated eIF4E levels in cervical neoplasia, where it upregulates the human papillomavirus (HPV) oncoprotein E7.
Purpose of the Study:
- To quantify eIF4E expression in cervical tissues across a spectrum of pathologies.
- To investigate the correlation between eIF4E upregulation, cervical pathology grade, tumor stage, and HPV genotype.
