The apolipoprotein E (apo E) epsilon4 allele and high lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)] levels may contribute to fatty liver development. This study investigated these factors in relation to fatty liver disease.

- Elevated plasma Lp(a) concentration might be linked to the development of fatty liver.
- Further research is warranted to elucidate the mechanisms underlying these associations.
