Prevalence and risk factors for primary hyperparathyroidism in hyperthyroid patients

The prevalence of primary hyperparathyroidism in hyperthyroid patients is 13.5%, especially in older individuals. This finding suggests investigating hypercalcemia in hyperthyroid patients for co-occurring parathyroid disease.
