Summary

Human T-cell lymphotropic virus type I (HTLV-1) is significantly associated with uveitis, particularly intermediate uveitis. Higher HTLV-1 seroprevalence in uveitis patients suggests a causal link, distinct from other common ocular inflammatory diseases.
