[Role of the HLA system in the functioning of the immune system]
1Laboratoire d'Immunologie, CHRU, Angers.
Abstract:
HLA molecules share a particular architecture that allow them to present various peptides. They belong to 2 different subfamilies (class I and class II) working in parallel: each class restricts the presentation of potentially immunogenic peptides to a peculiar T cells subpopulation. This lead HLA system to be one of the possible components of the allergic background.
