Genetic variations in the matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2) gene are not associated with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). This study found no significant differences in MMP2 gene polymorphisms between AAA patients and controls, suggesting MMP2 variants do not cause AAA.
