Preclinical carotid atherosclerosis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Background:

• Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is linked to higher rates of cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality and morbidity.
• This increased risk persists independently of conventional cardiovascular risk factors.
