Abstract:
The Faculty of Nursing at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, Mexico started as a professional career in 1952, being a part of the university programs and offering the technical nursing career. Later, in 1986, the teacher training program in nursing initiated. In 1996, the University Council approved the project for a presential Masters Course in Nursing Science. The distance mode of the same course initiated in 2002, using interactive videoconferencing, and is offered in various status of the Mexican Republic. As a participant in the CICAD (Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission) program, the Faculty of Nursing aims to create networks to contribute to a decrease in drugs demand in Latin America and the Caribbean through transformative leadership, promoting a holistic focus on health prevention.
