Objective:
To set up the callus culture system of Changiums myrnioides and the plantlet regeneration system by the proliferation and differentiation of callus.
Method:
The segment of stems used as the explants were cultured on dedifferentiation and differentiation medium supplied with different auxin and cytokinin.
Result:
MS medium with NAA 0.5 - 1.0 mg/L + KT 0.1 mg/L was best combination for the induction of callus, MS medium with 6 - BA 1 - 2 mg/L + GA 1 - 2 mg/L was suitable for the differentiation of adventitious buds, and MS medium with IBA 0.5 - 1 mg/L was suitable for the induction of root.
Conclusion:
Callus culture may be used as a useful method to get regenerated plantlet of Changiums myrnioides under certain condition.

Transgenic Plants
The first-ever transgenic plant was a tobacco plant developed in 1983 that showed resistance against the tobacco mosaic virus. Since then, many transgenic plants have been developed and commercialized for improving the agricultural, ornamental, and horticultural value of a crop plant. Transgenic...
