Bite force and occlusal contact area changes following mandibular widening using distraction osteogenesis

Summary

Mandibular widening via distraction osteogenesis improved bite force and occlusal contact area. These improvements reached preoperative levels by six months and exceeded them by one year, indicating long-term functional recovery.
