  • To standardize a computed tomographic (CT) projection for reproducible RWN measurements.

  • Computed tomography scans from 214 patients (4-85 years, 414 ears) were analyzed.
  • RWN depth, width, shape, and skull width were measured.
  • A specialized oblique CT projection was reconstructed for optimal RWN visualization.

Main Results:

  • RWN dimensions showed no significant correlation with patient age.
  • Skull width increased with age in both genders.
  • CT imaging could not visualize soft tissues or folds within the RWN.

Conclusions:

  • A standardized oblique CT projection effectively visualizes the RWN.
  • This method enables consistent and reliable measurements of the RWN anatomy.
  • The findings provide a basis for anatomical evaluation in otologic procedures.
