    Summary

    Virus induction stimulates leukocytes to produce tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha). TNF production kinetics were rapid, independent of IFN priming, and unaffected by IFN antibodies.

    Background:

    • Interferons (IFNs) are crucial cytokines in antiviral defense.
