Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ligation offers faster recovery and shorter hospital stays compared to open surgery. However, VATS is associated with a higher incidence of complications, particularly recurrent laryngeal nerve injuries.
