Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate if high VEGF expression in surviving osteosarcoma cells after neoadjuvant chemotherapy influences patient prognosis.
  • To determine the prognostic significance of VEGF in resected osteosarcoma tumors.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective analysis of 52 patients with Stage IIB osteosarcoma around the knee.
  • 48 patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
  • Immunohistochemical staining assessed VEGF expression in resected tumor specimens; survival data analyzed.
