Low T3 syndrome in psychiatric depression

Low T3 syndrome, characterized by decreased triiodothyronine (T3) levels, was observed in 6.4% of psychiatric patients with major depression. This finding suggests a potential link between depression and low T3 levels, even without other systemic illnesses.
