Adverse effects of antiglaucoma medications

Most patients with relatively early glaucomatous damage can be satisfactorily managed with topically or orally administered medications. These drugs, however, can sometimes cause adverse ocular or systemic effects. In this paper the fundamental pharmacologic activity of antiglaucoma medications is reviewed, and appropriate strategies to prevent or manage drug-induced side effects are considered.
