Rheumatoid discitis can cause spinal cord compression. Prompt surgical intervention and fixation can lead to recovery, even with some lasting functional deficits.

  • Early surgical decompression and internal fixation were performed.

Implications:

  • The patient achieved a cure with minimal residual functional impairment.
