Measuring glycaemic responses: duplicate fasting samples or duplicate measures of one fasting sample?

Using two fasting blood samples to measure glycaemic response (AUC) did not improve precision. Calculating AUC from a single 0-minute fasting blood glucose (FBG0) measure was more precise than using the average of two samples.

- Further research is required before mandating two fasting blood samples for glycaemic index determination.
