Intra-abdominal follicular dendritic cell sarcoma.

Summary
Follicular dendritic cell sarcoma, a rare intra-abdominal cancer, was completely removed surgically. Post-surgery radiotherapy was administered to prevent recurrence of this rare tumor.

Background:
- Follicular dendritic cell (FDC) sarcoma is an exceptionally rare neoplasm.
- Intra-abdominal presentation of FDC sarcoma is uncommon.
Observation:
- A case of intra-abdominal FDC sarcoma originating from the celiac and left gastric lymph nodes is presented.
- The initial tumor mass was completely excised surgically.
Findings:
- A recurrence was detected 18 months post-surgery via CT scan at the liver pedicle.
- The recurrent tumor was also fully resected.
Implications:
- Complete surgical excision is a primary treatment modality for intra-abdominal FDC sarcoma.
- Adjuvant radiotherapy may be considered to prevent disease relapse in FDC sarcoma.
