Summary

Blepharocele, a rare complication of skull base injury, can occur from orbital rim fractures. Surgical repair of the dura mater led to complete resolution of the blepharocele in this case.

Observation:

A 23-year-old male patient presented with blepharocele.
The condition resulted from an orbital rim fracture and a dural tear at the skull base.
Crucially, the patient maintained intact vision despite the injury.

Findings:

Surgical intervention focused on repairing the basal dural tear.
The blepharocele resolved completely following the surgical repair.
Vision was preserved throughout the clinical course.

Implications:

This case highlights the successful surgical management of blepharocele.
It underscores the importance of addressing dural integrity in orbital roof trauma.
Prompt surgical repair can lead to favorable outcomes and prevent vision loss in such rare injuries.
