Abstract:
The review is devoted to the effects on the human hearing function of noise generated by the life support systems (LSS). Based on the analysis of literature on testing the experimental and operational LSS of the Russian and NASA space vehicles and stations the authors conclude that the negative effects of LSS generated noise have been kept in the focal point of the medical community of the International Space Station program consolidating efforts of IPs toward the development of advanced methods of protection and control of the crewmembers' acoustic organs.
