    Background:

    • The Council on Social Work Education's (CSWE) Strengthening Aging and Gerontology Education for Social Work (SAGE-SW) project, funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation (1998-2004), addressed critical issues in social work and aging.
    • The project identified a significant lack of attention, preparation, leadership, and interest in gerontology within the social work profession.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To publish an action agenda (the Blueprint) outlining key issues and recommended actions for social work and aging.
