[Erectile dysfunction. Perception of sexuality among men who suffer it]

Little is known about how Erectile Dysfunction affects the perception of sexuality among those who suffer this syndrome. This review article includes studies whose main objective is to investigate said experiences and perceptions. The author's search only found articles written in English and of those, just 10 studies are included in this article. This review shows that among men who suffer erectile dysfunction, it is common for them to feel loneliness, less masculinity, shame, guiltiness and a sense of having a chronic dysfunction. Medication or mechanical apparatuses are viewed as lacking spontaneity and moreover are solicited late in the majority of these cases.
