Background:

  • Initial patient cohort comprised four women aged 33-43 with elevated FSH levels, opting for frozen donor oocytes over fresh donor eggs.
  • Frozen donor eggs were thawed, fertilized via intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and resulting embryos transferred on day 3.

Observation:

  • The study reports on the initial experience with a commercial donor egg bank.
  • Four patients utilized frozen donor eggs for in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Findings:

  • Thawed egg survival rate was 76%, with a 74% fertilization rate.
