[A method for assembling hip joint endoprosthesis with an isolating clutch]
Abstract:
Wear products formed in the mobility element of an implant lead to metallosis and, as a result, resorption of osseous tissue around the implant. This makes the implant unstable and brings about the necessity for surgical reintervention. An endoprosthesis with a clutch for isolation of the friction unit is suggested. The clutch prevents penetration of wear particles into adjacent tissues. A procedure for mechanical assembly of the endoprosthesis is described.
