  • Urgent surgical resection of the encephalocele was performed.
  • Reconstruction of the meningeal and bone structures was successfully achieved.
  • Despite the poor prognosis associated with large encephaloceles, the patient showed positive outcomes.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the potential for successful surgical intervention in large encephaloceles.
  • Early surgical management may mitigate severe neurological deficits.
  • Preservation of feeding and motility post-surgery indicates a favorable short-term prognosis.
