Summary

We present a rare case of large nodules in splenic tuberculosis without spread to other organs. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed specific patterns in these unusual macronodular splenic tuberculosis lesions.

Background:

  • This report details an exceptionally rare instance of multiple macronodular splenic tuberculosis.
  • The patient had no evidence of tuberculosis in organs outside the spleen.

Findings:

  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) demonstrated hypointensity on T(2)-weighted images for the splenic nodules.
  • A characteristic finding was gradual peripheral enhancement with complete fill-in on contrast-enhanced sequences.
