The sequence of removing or doffing PPE starts with the gloves, as they are the most contaminated. Next is removal of the face shield or goggles, as they would interfere with removing other PPE. Background:

Dandruff is a prevalent scalp condition.
Understanding soldiers' knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) is crucial for targeted interventions.

Purpose of the Study:

To assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding dandruff among serving male soldiers.
To identify common symptoms, perceived causes, and treatment-seeking behaviors related to dandruff in this population.

Main Methods:

A cross-sectional study was conducted among 800 serving male soldiers in Pakistan.
Data was collected using a close-ended questionnaire administered by trained staff.
Convenience sampling was employed, and data was analyzed using SPSS-10.

Main Results:

Over 65% of soldiers reported having dandruff, with hair fall and scalp itching as common symptoms.
Perceived causes included bad water, winter, and lack of sleep.
While most used hair oils and home remedies, a significant portion sought medical or traditional healer consultations.
Media advertisements influenced the use of anti-dandruff products in 40.9% of respondents.

Conclusions:

Dandruff is a common issue among soldiers, impacting their well-being.
There is a need for public health education programs to address dandruff.
The role of media in health matters, particularly for dandruff management, warrants further policy consideration.
