Abstract:
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affects approximately 14 million Americans. Treatment of COPD includes bronchodilators, corticosteroids and antibiotics. The most common bacterial isolates during exacerbations of COPD are Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Moraxella catarrhalis.
